  Well.....

  It is a JW belief and, in this case, it's put in simple terms for a child to understand.

  At the beginning of the video the mother mentioned that people have different ideas on what's right and wrong, then proceeded to explain very tactfully the JW belief.

  JWs don't hate on others, but definitely the homosexual lifestyle is not at this time part of the culture; and the same way perhaps gun nuts or a radical right wingers or a racists indoctrinate their offspring, JWs do the very same on their ways.

  Actually, for JW children, this needs to be emphasized more and more these days where the homosexual lifestyle has become the norm in so many places, so much so that the Law of the land is ruling in favor.

  I feel so sorry for people whom I'm sure are born this way, but it's a JW belief and they must teach it to their young.

  sent my da letter and it has been anounced at the meeting.

  Happy, happy, joy, joy!!!

  I can only daydream about it:

  • No more time-wasting in.... 2 weekly meetings which take up (with getting ready, traveling, being early and leaving some 15 minutes afterwards) a good 4 hours each - service time mainly on Saturday mornings, but can also involve one other day - preparing and rehearsing parts for the mid-week meeting - attending assembly clean-up duties the day prior which occupies time off from work - attending assemblies 3 times per year which waste valuable vacation time from work - attending a boring, meaningless memorial of the death of a deity who is not seeing or listening or cares about us - faking it, faking it all.

  Sincere congratulations. Not many make it out so gracefully as you have.

  its a rainy day and have been reading posts.. i would like to respond to the comments of those still in, post to those who have decided to leave.. what ever you have been told or may think about what will happen without "the truth" , is not true.

  my life without the wbts is fantastic.

  no stress, live in a beautiful place, great new friends and total peace of mind.

  So good to hear that things are fabulous for you and others who leave this 'jail' of sorts.

  It would be a much different story for me. I'm a born-in and all the family that matters to me are very heavily entangled with the WTBTS, so there's no 'leaving' for me; therefore, I just make the very best of what's been handed to me by birth into it.

  Recently, hubby and I seem to hang out more and more with a group that seems to be awake to the WTBTS crap but nobody speaks about it, we just have fun together.

  if you "chose" this religion, as i did, do you remember the moment you "bought", or believed, the religion?.

  for me, it was during one of my studies with a knowledgeable, lovely pioneer sister who looked like her life was so perfect and wonderful.

  i was coming out of a terrible situation in my life, very vulnerable, being abandoned by a husband during my pregnancy and with other little children to look after too.

  Never bought it, like ever, just went throw the motions since I can remember; a born-in with such strong family affiliation with the WTBTS that in order to keep peace and togetherness, I need to remain confined to this 'spiritual jail'.

  If there was no shunning, my last day stepping foot at the KH would've been yesterday afternoon in the middle of that awful WT study regarding loyalty.

  gerrit losch giving a talk in so-called spanish in the dominican republic.

  first begging for donations ...and than this.

  brothers and sisters travelling hours and hours to hear this reading, he obviously doesnt speak spanish, just knows how to read it.

  In the Spanish congs of this zone the parents are very focused in sending their kids to obtain higher education passed just high school.

  Here in the States, a high school diploma won't get you enough to support yourself, a family and help out the immigrant parents that will need help once they get old (because the will; Armageddon ain't coming!). So, the WTBTS advice on not pursuing high educ is being completely ignored here. Thank God!!!

  How dare they go to a 3rd world country, strugging economically for the most part of the citizens, and then claim that they do not better themselves and obtain as much education as possible to improve their situation???!!!

  Easy for them living super large in New York and traveling 1st class all the way wherever they show their faces.

  May he or any other from the GB be booed and eggs/pies/tomatoes thrown at them!!!

  Moment of awakening?

  i just recalled something from my past that i've not thought about in a very long time, but it did have a significant impact on me whether i knew it or not at the time....... i have a sister who was born when i was 15. my family are not jw's thank the universe!

  but me as an uberdub at the time convinced my young sister to have a study.

  she was about 14 or 15 at the time i'd guess.

  Upon reading the article in the Watchtower of November 1995 (?) about the elongating of the 'generation' count, I became wide awake. However, my family ties are so strong and they all are such JW heavies/hardcore that since then I've been confined to 'spiritual jail' inside the WTBTS in order to keep peace and togetherness.

  It's a high emotional price to pay. Living a lie is at times unbearable, and the older I become, the more it bothers me to live this way.

  urghhh... what a disgusting study!7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.

  for example, a sister named anne received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.

  the mother wanted to visit anne because she felt pained by her isolation from the family.

  Are JWs now encouraged to volunteer?

  after i retired i volunteered for several community service programs, including working with the local food bank.

  every fourth thursday of each month i help out in distributing food to needy families at the local veterans building.

  i've been helping out for five years now.

  The WTBTS aims to occupy all the time any one JW has available. That some of them break away to do some real actual 'good' in society is commending, but definitely an act of rebellion against the Org.

  Believe you me, if one was do every single thing required of a true JW, one would need to add hours to each day. These jerks just pile up so much for a JW to do in order to feel at peace in the mind.

  ALL type of things happen within the WTBTS; lead by and filled with ALL imperfect people, nothing that happens there should be surprising whatsoever.

  Rumor has it of young couples in the Spanish congs around here exchanging spouses and horrible entanglements relating to who the real father is for certain of the ladies in the ring who became pregnant, which lead to big cover-ups.

  Pure evidence that no crazy religious belief can counter our sinful, sexual, imperfect human condition.
